Merry Christmas...

Merry Christmas to all of you and your family. I always love Christmas as this is the season where you see people sharing and giving., spreading love...

Thanks Gaby for dropping by... We do not really know each other in person, but from blog hopping, I landed in her blog admiring her art work and we have a few exchanges via blog comments. It is really lovely of her to drop by just to send her season greeting... Pls drop by her blog to see her awesome pieces of art work... I heart her work and especially love her ATCs (Artist Trading Cards) ,and I would love to get a chance to exchange with her...

I'm so sorry for this terribly hand made card which is absolutely imperfect, but that's about art... This is a very simple one with cutting of PP, stamping and inking... Was not really in the mood to make Christmas card though I've bought these Xmas PP some time back... Have been busy with work & Facebook games, but I'm glad that I managed to churn out something from some of these PP for my angels pals... Will post it only after they have received it tomorrow...

Time for me to be in the dreamland... Nitez everybody...

Do your part in the skipping marathon @ Changi Simei CC, it started from 19/Dec 10pm till 20/Dec 2009 9.30am. There are people who stay as far as Yishun & Bukit Batok, who travel all their way to do skipping, doing their part to help the needies, BRAVO to them!

I Love Pokka Ume Green Tea

Have you tried this new flavor - Ume Green Tea from Pokka? I fall in love with it the moment I had my 1st sip, it tasted so nice that I'm almost unwilling to share since I've got only 1 pack from a goodie bag, muahaha... The Ume Green Tea is supposed to be a delicate blend of freshly brewed premium green tea and tangy Ume juice (Japanese Plum), with no coloring & preservatives. I love it for its refreshing taste and yet not too sweet. In fact, it has thirst quenching properties which is added bonus. It is now definitely on my favourite drink list! Do try out the drink and let me know your thoughts!

P/S: I don't get advertising fee for this publicity for the drink *winkz*

Did you feel it???

Did you feel stars around you yesterday during evening time? It's not because you are feeling unwell that you feel giddy, it's earthquake!

Well, I felt it... This is the 1st time I've felt that I've experienced it... I'm working overtime in the office, rushing my work and that moment. Then the aircon started to give out some weird noise and I start to feel my chair is shaking and a bit giddy as well... I wonder if it's "something" playing trick on me.... but I decided to dispense the thought, and that it must be me getting too tired that I started to feel stars around me...

Then my colleague in the accounts dept called, she asked if I felt it? I answered yes, I does felt the tremors. And she, having experiencing it several times, shared that it must be earthquake and we should leave office immediately....

And time suddenly wind back to year 2004, where memories of the Nicoll Highway Collapse flooded. When the highway collapses, I was just sitting in my office in the Concourse. Just before we realised what happened, the lights above me are flickering and some get burnt out, and the next time I know, everyone in the office is crowding at the window which can see Nicoll Highway clearly. My other colleagues sitting around the corner facing Nicoll Highway, felt the tremor... Through the window, we see how the road crack into halves and many more within few minutes time, and we see how the contruction crane nearby collapses as well. It's a terrible one, a real tragedy...
If you have no idea but would like to know more about the Nicoll Highway collapse, read this. The above photo is extracted from the same article @ Singapore Infopedia.

Thanks my friends...

Thanks to all who have expressed their concern during the the past few weeks when you got to know about my grandma's pass on... Although these may seem small acts to you, but they mean so much to me... Thanks once again...

It is to our utmost surprise that you just left us without any words, although we are more or less mentally prepared that you may not pull through this "seventh month" when uncle called a few days ago to tell us you are getting weaker. But your departure just came too sudden and this will always be mom's greatest regret, that she is not able to be at your side when you are having your last moment at your death bed.

However, came to think of it, your departure may be a blessing in disguise for you. For the past few years, your movement have been bounded, and with the departure of grandpa, you seems to have aged much, and gotten more sick and feeble.

Maybe it's grandpa who's asking you to join him in the other part of the world? I pray hard that the two of you be reunite in the other world.

Grandma, may you rest in peace...

Great Sense of Fulfilment!

Am glad to able to help Jenn complete 100 cards by today for Church's fund raising for the autism kids! This is a combined effort by Jenn, Aida, Rachel, Yen & me.

Next activity on the list will be joining my dear Yanti in a food donation drive activities for unsubsidised Lee Ah Mooi Old Folks Home. If anyone of you is interested to help in anyway, pls feel free to drop me a message!

And yes, after much procasination, I finally posted some of my stash for sale in another blog, will be continue to raise fund and donate 10% of Aug - Sep sales proceeds to Charmine.

I've been an unofficial volunteer with various organisation through various friends' connection since my poly days, participating in various charity projects, e.g.
- Tele-match for the disabled;
- Newspaper / old clothing collection for Fund Raising;
- Old Folks' home / Children's home visits;
- Fund Raising for Community Chest / The Children's Society / Children's Cancer Foundation;
- Church Fund Raising for the Elderly;
- Event Volunteer with Mainly I Love Kids (MILK) / Volunteer Resources Network (VRN) Singapore Soka Association (SSA), Metta Welfare Association;
- Tsunami charity drive volunteer for Kong Meng San Phor Kark See Monastery (KMSPKS) / Singapore Soka Association (SSA);
- Charity Drive by Scrappin Kids Care
- Unofficial Event Volunteer with Tampines East YEC (prior to joining as observer) / Jurong Spring YEC;
- Observer With Tampines East YEC then and now with Simei Changi WEC;
- Fund Raising for Charmine, etc.

My greatest sense of fulfilment do not come from the long list of charity activities that can be added to my profile, but being able to help others... Though I do not commit as long term volunteer, I always give time for charity work if time permits and do my best to help within my means (I always join any ad hoc charity event / activities that has called for my help and if my schedule allows) . You see that despite I'm a Buddhism, or rather, a Taoism, I participate in charity drive with several other religious organisation... To me, there should not be any boundaries set due to religious belief, don't you think so?

Prediction of Traffic Offence by LTA?

Last Fri, was checking the AXS machine to check if Dad still have any outstanding fine for his Lorry, to my horror, I saw an advance notice of offence. How did Land Transport Authority (LTA) managed to predict that my dad's lorry would have go against the traffic regulations on the next day?

See below, screen shot taken on 08/21 only, however date of offence shown is 08/22!

And today, I reading the chinese newspaper and came to realised that Dad isn't the only one who's being fined in advance! What went wrong???

I feel so sickening!

I feel so sickening when I rec'd her SMS this morning that she'll be on M.C. for another day, giving all sorts of excuses that her immune system is down and affecting her menstruation cycle, etc... I can't even bother to send her a SMS to ask her "take care"...

Even though it's for real, I would have think that all these are just bullshit coz coincidentally 2 days before she goes on M.C., she was telling me she very much wanted take a long leave, but knowing the fact that we are again, short handed, it will not be possible and that she is very disheartening. And immediately, the next day, she goes on M.C., and today, she extends for another day, if she need to further extend another day, I wouldn't be surprise at all as Monday will be a public holiday replacement, meaning, she gets a straight 6 days off, a long break indeed!
I really do not like her working attitude, despite the fact that we all feel short chained by the company, I still feel that it is incorrect to keep on claiming M.C. so that she can officially take leave... OK, I gotta admit I not Saint, occasionally I do have the thought flashed across coz I'm really worn out... So I'm fine if she do this once in a blue moon as I really can understand how each of us are worn out during this period of 8-9months, but she's doing it too often that I can't stand anymore!

Everyone's workload are just as heavy, when she goes on M.C., means the work load will be passed to us, leaving us with barely chance to breathe... I wonder she used up all the 14 days annual M.C. she's entitled? If not, why??? Coz she seems to go on M.C. at least 2-3 times a month!

Yes, I feel short chained not only by the company, but by her too! Despite the fact that she has the intention to leave, and yet not 100% confirmed yet; with such working attitude, I guarantee she wont go far, be it she stay with the job, or she leave for a new one.

I rather be the one short chained by the company, then the one who short chained the company! Even though I have the intention to leave, I will still work through the very last moment. So that, if one day I were to leave, I can just walk out of the door, with no guilt. If the management choose to make untrue accusation of me, which they did to previous staff, people working around me will be able to tell which is true, and which is not!

But for her case, if eventually she decided to stay on, what will the management think of her? All these little stunts only portray her with poor working attitude. If she eventually leave, this leave chances for everybody else to bad mouth her, which, unknowingly, I'm already doing so prior to her "final decision"...

K, time to end my frustration and back to work...

Know your True Value!

A well-known speaker started off his seminar by holding up a 500 $ note. In the room of 200 Peoples,

He asked, "Who would like this 500 $ note?"

Hands started going up.

He said, "I am going to give this note to one of you but first let me do this."

He proceeded to crumple the note up.

He then asked, "Who still wants it?"

Still the hands were up in the air.

"Well," he replied, "What if I do this?"

And he dropped it on the ground and started to grind it into the floor with his shoe. He picked it up, now all crumpled and dirty.

"Now who still wants it?"

Still the hands went into the air.

"My friends, you have all learned a very valuable lesson.

No matter what I did to the money.

You still wanted it because it did not decrease in value. It was still worth 500 $/-.

Many times in our lives, we are dropped, crumpled, and ground into the dirt by the decisions we make and the circumstances that come our way. We feel as though we are worthless.

But no matter what has happened or what will happen.

Never lose your value.

You are special. Don't ever forget it! Never let yesterday's disappointments overshadow tomorrow's dreams.

Spam Chain SMS

Did you receive below SMS on today?

"Today is the day when Singtel, M1, Starhub celebrate the mark of Singaporeans sending a total of 60 billions local messages. Forward this msg to 10 person and you will have $49 of outgoing calls free!!! After so, you may check your phone bill to verify. :)"

Frankly speaking, would you believe in such an SMS? The chain sms starter is simply testing our intelligence! What's so great in about marking 60 billions local messages being sent?

If it says, to mark 44th birthday of Singapore, the telecom service providers are giving out 44mins outgoing calls free, one may still have a bit belief of in this, but giving out $49.00 worth of outgoing calls frees to all, this is simply impossible! And why $49 worth? Do you know how many mobile phone users are there in Singapore, and some own more than 1 line and these figures will translate to how much revenue being cut! The telecom service providers must be out of mind if this ever happen.

Come on, we are not 3 years old kid, I must be foolish if I were to believe in this spam chain SMS, ha!

I will believe in unless this has been published on newspaper and announced officially!

P/S: I've been receiving the same SMS since yesterday night... So friends who's taking luck to give it a try, do not send this SMS anymore. My friend who's working in Singtel has confirmed that the above is untrue, do not fall into the trap of those nuisance people who create this spam chain SMS. ;P

End of Stash Sale

Today is the stash sale, somehow, many of the potential customers have something on and did not turn up last minute. Naturally, sales is affected and total sales is S$47.20 only and 30% of the proceeds is S$14.17. Hmm... Will be rounding up for the donation, but still can't decide how much...

I'm wondering if I should do some onlines posting of sale of the craft stash. But time is really tight as I've so many things on hand... And I wonder if the effort spent will be worthwhile... Let me sort out my things on hand then decide...

Extending my helping hand...

While I'm preparing my scrapbook/handicraft stash for the garage sale on coming Sat at Our Craft Place (12pm - 4pm), it suddenly cross my mind -- While I trying to clear my stash to get back a bit of cash, why not do a bit to extend my helping hand?

Most of you may be aware that little Charmine has managed to raise the fund for her treatment in US, however, she will need a bit more for her follow up treatment. So I decided to do my bit to help raise the fund... I'll be contributing 30% of the proceeds of the garage sale on this coming Sat and will be rounding up the figure. I'm not sure how much I can raise since the stuff are selling at low price, but still, I believe every bit counts, do give me your support.

Some things that you can expect in my garage sale are as below, hope this is what you are looking for? Will be listing the items separately later...

Not into blogging... for now...

I know I've not been blogging for quite some time, coz I'm really not into the mood to blog... I've actually many photos and nice things to share... But guess I'm simply preoccupied with the many issues on hand... Thanks for all the concerns extended to me, I coping fine right now, although at times, still feel a bit vulnerable, but I'll pull through...

Feeling very tired from work, or maybe "sick of" will be a better term... think it's really high time to move on as I not feeling happy anymore about the job and I'm going no where... And I don't deny, my efficiency has dropped much maybe after the many months of struggling without a break at all. Still feeling lost where to head to but I think a break will do me good. Although now it may not seems a wise decision for me, but I believe my "God" will help to go through this difficult time!

Happy Father's Day!

Today serves as a reminder to all, not only mommy is great, your dad is just as great!

Happy Father's Day to all the daddies out there!

I thank you, my friends...

I'm actually considered a very lucky gal although at times I do get knock out by the harsh reality...

I always have these groups of secondary school mates & poly mates who will stand by me during my most difficult times...

And no matter how seldom we stay in contact, I always have these groups of ex-colleages who are willing to share their listening ears at any time...

I'm lucky enough to have these group of nice people whom I know through scrapbooking, expressing their concern to me, giving me all the encouragement I needed...

I, thank "God" (in my religion), giving me this special previlege, to meet these kind souls... So whatever tough problems that I face, I always have the boosting from their encouragement to move forward...

And I thank each and everyone of you who have been so kind and encouraging! Thanks for being part of my life!

see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil

Sometimes, I rather turn blind to certain things, seeing these may hurt...

Sometimes I rather not hear certain things, the more you listen the more burden you may carry...

Sometimes I wish I can just zip my mouth, the more I say, the more trouble I may get into...

How do one see no evil, hear no evil, & speak no evil? This is just not an easy task!

What are you (I) hiding from people?

I did this quiz on facebook and find the result very true... I'm not one who is open in sharing my thoughts / feelings most time, I bad at words in terms of speech. However, I do like to jot down my feelings in writing, thus, I like blogging. Sometimes I managed to convey a message or share my thoughts (directly / indirectly) which I find it hard to say it out... Blogging is one avenue I'm using, trying not to hide so much of my emotions coz at times, some feelings / thoughts need to be speak out...

Hmm... something is missing...

Hmm... somehow just find that something is missing from my earlier posted LO for May Challenge of Ed's Sketch, then it came to me, I missed out more inking! Have redone my LO and think it looks better... at least to myself...

What do you think? Pls give me opinion how I can improve my LO better, I'm simply bad at 12"x12" LO...

New LO hot from the stove!

It's been quite some time since I last really scrap a LO except the recent class that I attend in Changi Simei CC conducted by Jenn.

Today is crazy shopping time at Laines VIP sale again. Bought quite a fair bit of stuff and Ed is reminds me better start to de-stash by scrapping more often coz it's simply unhealthy to keep buying... Received a RAK from Feli and yes, I love them, raw chipboards, flowers & ribbons!!! I wanna experiment the raw chipboards with paint and crackle accents and use in my next LO if possible! Feli also passed me some MWL vouchers and I ended up my second shopping session there. Finally bought my very first bottle of Robin's Nest, I've seen Feli used in her LOs ample times and have been thinking for the longest time... with the discount voucher, I finally bought it. Then I met Yen in MWL and she gave me another discount voucher which I use it on a set of Sizzix Texture plates which previously Aida bring for us to use in the last crop for us to use.

When I reached home, just suddenly have the inspiration and try out the May Challenge for Ed's Sketch, though I may be too late but it's just for the fun...

The is the sketch by Ed

and this is my LO...
Finally use one of the wooden scrolls which I bought some time back during Laine's previous sale and also the newly bought Robin's Nest dew drops from Made With Love.

How much do you enjoy food?

How much do you enjoy eating food? Have you ever wasted much food in the past? Have it ever crossed your mind that while you are wasting food from ordering more than what you can eat, there others out there struggling hard just to get a piece of the leftover food? Have you ever realised that you are one of the privileged ones who can eat as and when you wanted?

I've always feel that one should not waste food... That's why I always try to finish whatever is in the plate, unless the portion is way too much from what I can intake. Nowadays, if I feel that that the portion is too big for me to finish out, I will request for a smaller portion to minimise waste. How about you?

A fellow scrapper, Michelle has shared this video link - Chicken A La Carte by Ferdinand Dimadura, which after viewing, had cried my heart out! I believe that this is a "wake up call" to those who tend to waste food always. Will definitely share this video clip with my friends and hopefully convey a positive message to all, to treasure what you have and also understanding the rationale & importance of not wasting food...

This film is about the hunger and poverty brought about by Globalization. There are 10,000 people dying everyday due to hunger and malnutrition. This short film shows a forgotten portion of the society. The people who live on the refuse of men to survive. What is inspiring is the hope and spirituality that never left this people.

The next time you place an order for food, do think twice if you have ordered too much...

I'm a Winner!!!

So Happy when I received an SMS from Sasha informing that I'm the lucky Winner to Doris Sander's Class - Product Pizzazz 102. I never thought that I'll be that lucky...

However, with Doris' email has reaffirmed that, yah! I'm that lucky winner!

Creative Escape 2009

Had so much fun at the Creative Escape with Kah-Mei Smith, Donna Downey & Tia Benett on 25 Apr 2009; learning and revising on skills & techniques.

Although unlike the kind angels who stood by our side as teacher assistants for almost whole of 12hrs, I suffered from body aches too... just don't understand why, is it a sign of aging for me?

Had great fun meeting old friends and making new friends...

Had such great excitement that Kah-Mei Smith still can recall my name due to previous Fontwerks warehouse sale kits ordering issue:P

Had so much worries & anxiety about losing and finding my pink autographed cutterpede!

Here are some sneak peeks of what we have learnt during the whole day class. Due to respect the teachers' copyright, will not be showing the full completed projects. In fact, I've yet completed all, will try to get them completed during this weekend though...

Kah-Mei Smith - The Beginnings (Stamping Technique Album)

Donna Downey - Swatches (Framed Canvas Project)

Tia Benett - Pieces of My Heart

Are you excited about the completed project? Did you regret not missing out the fun???

Mini Groovie Challenge & Yellow Challenge

Just finished my Groovie Mar - Apr Mini Challenge by Feli in Groovie Java Scraps Cafe and I combined it with Papier House Yellow Challenge.

The stamp image, epoxy sticker & chipboard are sponsored by Feli. There are a lot more yummy embellishments, just that I did not use up all. Thanks Feli.

The house is colored yellow, and embellished with some yellow flowers around it. Frame is stamped with yellow staz on ink.

Made the base of the card with yellow cardstock. Centre of the card is stamped with Tim Holtz mustard (yellow) & spice marmalade (orange) distressed inks and, edge inked with Walnut stain. The flourish stamp is by AL (Autumn Leaves) while the flower stamp is by Fontwerks. Originally flower is much smaller, I have restamped with edges to create a much bigger one. And the word "Thanks" is handwritten by me. Border of the card puched by Fiskars Water threading Border Punch...

Chance upon this on Black River Designs' Blog and I find this interesting... Not sure if there will be people interested in my hand made stuff though...

The first three people to respond to this post will get something made by me! My choice. For you. This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:
1- I make no guarantees that you will like what I make!
2- What I create will be just for you.
3- It’ll be done this year.
4- You have no clue what it’s going to be.
5- I reserve the right to do something extremely strange.

The catch is that you must repost this on your blog and offer the same to the first 3people who do the same on your blog. The first 3 people to do so and leave a comment telling me they did win a FAB-U-LOUS homemade gift by me!
Oh, and be sure to post a picture of what you win when you get it!

Hightea at Conrad Centennial Singapore Hotel

In the noon I went to have hightea with my scrapper friend, Irene (Scrappyheart) at Conrad Centennial Singapore Hotel! The teas that they served are really nice. I had the garden of herbs with mint, lavender, rose, chamomile, etc..., it is soothing and with a really nice fragrance. The chocolates and desserts are awfully tasty & sinful! They serve nice sandwiches in bite sizes too! Nice catch up session as we have both been busy and long time no meet up le...

Got to know Irene through TSL and admire her handmade cards, and the passion for cardmaking just get us connected together, the North (Woodlands) meet East (Tampines)! Oops! Now you may have guessed which part of Singapore I'm staying at??? Muahaha....

We haven't get enough after the hightea and we proceed to Koufu and have some homemade lemon tea while continue to exchange ideas and techniques... Then we went to Kinokuniya A 'N' BC at Raffles City and bought some reaaly nice gift wrap papers and I bought a block stamp by Kodomo which I feel, is at a very reasonable price...

Back from the Creative Escape!

Finally back from thje creative escape, this is really a fun and tiring day but I sure enjoyed my day! Had much fun learning new techniques from Kah-Mei Smith, Donna Downey & Tia Benett, and meeting some old and new faces! Coincidentally, met my ex-colleague, Geraldine! What a small world!

But what got me sad is when I was on my way, I realised that I have left my cutterpede on the OHP Projector and forgotten about it after helping MF to take her photo with Tia Benett. Though I've been utilising it for a couple of years and with the depreciation, I didn't lose much, but what makes it valueable is that it has got the signatures of the scrapbooking masters, and this is the very 1st proper paper trimmer which I've bought ever since I start scrapbooking, which has got such invaluable sentimental value!

I pray hard that it can be found... tonight gonna be a sad day for me which is a totally contrast from what I'm feeling during the day...

To The creative Escape...

I'm so excited! Will be going to the creative escape soon and have much fun! Keep a lookout, will post more on the escapade after my return...

Almost an accident!

Today almost met with accident on the bus no. 8. The driver suddenly jam break and all the standing passengers, including me almost fall off despite holding tight to the chairs, etc.

I'm terribly shocked and scared, due to fear that I may sprained my ankle again. My ankle sprained since Feb, has yet fully recovered and I certainly do not wish to injure the same spot again. It's been months since I'm injured. From very cautious to avoid taking cold drinks, spicy & sour food to simply bor chap! Especially with the extremely high temperature around, I can't help but pick up ice from the fridge and enjoy a moment of chill...

For the lottery lovers out there, you can consider to buy the bus plate no. 2574 or 2754 , cant remember exactly the plate no. though (SBS****X), muahaha...

Some Neighbourhood Photos

Have you ever stopped and take a good look at your neighbourhood? That day was in a special mood, saw some unique dark clouds from far on my way home while travelling along the road. And decided to went up to some nearby flats to snap around. Only then I realised the "darkness" in the cloud is due to some light reflections... However, I'm gald that I walked around the neighbourhood to have a better look...
