Tutorial: Altered Heart Shaped Puzzle for Valentine's Day Card

Participated in the Groovie Mini Challenge (Jan - Feb 2009), the Heart Puzzle is sponsored by Georgina and we are supposed to altered it to mini projects or incorporate it to our LO.

I'm late in my submission coz I'm really caught up by the several issues in the 1st two months of the year. But I'm glad that I completed it and am happy with the end product. The message "You piece up my Life" may seems mushy, does not originate from me. I spotted it from a card and I thought it fits the puzzle well so I just use it.

The making of this card is rather simple:

  1. Use a Valentine theme pattern paper to layer above the cardstock, leaving borders at both top and bottom.
  2. Then decoupage another peice of Valentine theme pattern paper on the heart puzzle, sand and ink the edges of individual piece.
  3. Deliberately leave a piece of the puzzle unattached to the rest with rub-on alphas "You". (Alternatively, you can stamp it)
  4. Finally use rub-on alphas to continue the unfinished message "piece up my Life!" (You can stamp it or even hand write as an alternative)

Tadaa, the card is completed!  Simple, isn't it?  If you need a heart shaped puzzle template, you can get it here!
