The Croods Movie Review

Thanks to UFM100.3, I get to attend The Croods Gala Premiere at Vivo City on 12th March.  It was a fun night filled with laughter throughout the session.

Upon stepping in the Cinema, there was a big poster board of The Croods, with a chair attached where one can seat on and have a picture taken.

One of the characters from the movie, Belt, came around to take pictures with the viewers.  Those who had their photos taken early, actually managed to get a copy of the printed copy as well. However, my picture below is actually taken with my handphone.

The Croods is a computer-animated adventure comedy film produced by DreamWorks Animation and distributed by 20th Century Fox. It features the voices of Nicolas Cage, Ryan Reynolds, Emma Stone, Catherine Keener, Clark Duke, and Cloris Leachman. The film is set in the prehistoric era, where the last caveman family embark on a journey of a lifetime after the cave that has always shielded them from danger is destroyed. Traveling across a spectacular landscape, the Croods discover an incredible new world filled and their outlook is changed forever.

While it is obvious that the target audience are the children, I do find some parts of it slightly too violent (especially when the caveman family fighting against the other animals while hunting for their food).  It is no wonder the movie is graded with PG, requiring Parents' Guidence.

This is one of the rare times where I kept laughing out loud throughout the movie session.  Though the movie is meant to be a comedy, there are many hidden messages to bring across the viewers.
- Importance of expression of love,
- Be respectful to your family members,
- Show empathy, and see things from others's point of view,
- Where change is unavoidable, change your mindset.
Of course, there are a lot more other points, I'll shall let you discover yourself upon watching the film itself.

The Croods is set to hit Singapore movie theatres on 21st March 2013.  I'll highly recommend you to catch the movie, it is a truly entertaining movie that brings about moral values for both parents and kids.

BTW, 20th Century Fox Singapore is having a giveaway of  The Croods movie premiums, do check out their Facebook page.  The contest will end 21st Mar 2013, good luck if you are participating!
